With a flair for putting on live energetic shows with music that touches an audience both young and old, The Floating Bridges have made a reputation as being one of the most exciting, determined and focused bands to come out of South East Queensland!
Forming in mid 2009 The Floating Bridges in their short journey so far, now find themselves on the verge of becoming a major driving force in the Australian music scene.
Blending an array of styles, The Floating Bridges take on influences from Blues, Roots, Reggae, Funk and Rock, combining their passion for indigenous culture and social justice to create a fusion of sound driven by earthy beats and healthy percussion. Currently one of the hardest touring bands on the Sunshine Coast, The Floating Bridges have toured Regional Queensland, Brisbane, Gold coast and Northern New South Wales. With tours lined up for Sydney and Melbourne in late in 2011, and National Tours in 2012, the band is about to embark on some of the hardest touring schedules they have undergone so far!
With a list of shows and supports to their name already The Floating Bridges have enjoyed playing such venues as The Globe, The Joint,, Sugarland Tavern, Peregian Originals, Woodford Folk Festival, Caloundra Music Festival, Golden Days Festival and main stage New Years Eve, Mooloolaba.
The Floating Bridges have also played support for such artists as John Butler Trio, Jimmy Barnes, Josh Pyke, Dubmarine and Eagle and The Worm.
With two E.P. releases and their latest single FREEDOM, (currently played on Triple J), under their belts, the band is due to record their first full length album in January 2012. This recording will boast some of the finest tracks the band has written in the past 12 months and will showcase the energy and variety they have become so well known for.

Well we've been back from our tour of North Queensland for a couple of months now and can safely say we have fully recovered! What an amazing experience it was. All shows were a success including all the high-shools (shout out to Bowen Sate High, you guys went off!). To all the people that we met and supported us along the way, respect! A special thanks to Brian Goodsworth for helping us become a well oiled machine, and congrats to rodog our bass player for winning the coconut balancing contest at Dougies Backpackers , what a journey!
To more recent events, The Floating Bridges have just played at the Caloundra music festival performing two individual sets on the Sunday. Both shows went off with the evenning set proving to be one of the most electric performances of the year! Thankyou so much to all the sunnycoast fans you totally blew us away!
What's instore for The Floating Bridges now you ask? Manager Mike Jenner has just finished booking the bands South East Coast tour. Dubbed the "Long Way Tour", the band is heading through Byron Bay all the way to Melbourne stopping at Sydney along the way. The tour consists of 11 tour dates with shows at The Espy and Beneded Elbow now confirmed. If you're hopeing to catch the lads before then you can see them at the Sol Bar in Maroochydore, friday the 14th October, the band is filming footage for the release of their latest single, so come on down and get your groove on!
